I’m a Yorkshire lass who loves to talk. My idea of a superpower would be to walk into Paperchase and be able to buy everything – and then have a place / use for it in my life. I also love looking at clothes I’ll never wear, make-up techniques I’ll never master, and drinking decaf tea.
They say the pen is mightier than the sword, and our history goes way back. I had a career in music journalism before moving into the fast-paced world of motorsport PR. Now, I’m a full-time word nerd at a technical PR agency and I couldn’t be happier.
I’ve got a job I love, and the most fabulous husband. However, and I don’t know about you, but the more time I spend on social media, the more I feel as though my own life is lacking in some way: I’m not slim enough, pretty enough, my house isn’t like an outtake from Grand Designs, the art of cookery remains a mystery, style over comfort is my fashion-mantra – I’m working on that one – oh, and I can’t take photos that look like they’ve been shot in a studio.
Truth be told though, I want to master all the above, but in my own frugal and honest Yorkshire way. So, this blog is an authentic collection of some of the interesting – and inspiring – things I see each day, shared in a plain-speaking – and hopefully slightly humorous – Barnsley accent.
